SebastianiTheatre (2023) My wife and I went to the town of Sonoma in the California Wine Country to celebrate my good friend Jesus Ramirez’s birthday in September of 2023. It was a great party held at a local restaurant. The town is a lovely place to visit as one would expect being in one of California’s tourist destinations. That night, after the party we decided to take a stroll to enjoy the sights and sounds of such a vibrant little town. Being fond of neon signs the Sebastiani Theatre caught my eye. The neon bathed the brightly orange colored building in a beautiful glow that I couldn’t resist. Wherever you stood in the town square, your eyes were drawn to it! I immediately decided that this was a future painting! It didn’t take long before I started to create it. My only shots were from my iPhone and at night which made it difficult to get a real sense of the fine details that make up the marquee. Googling the theatre provided me with a myriad of reference shots that gave me all I needed. Thanks to Google Earth I was able to stroll around the theatre and study the facade of the building to get it just right.Along the way I rely on my Epson printers, especially the P9000, to proof the colors and how well the details hold up in print. Needless to say, when printed LARGE, everything is crystal clear! https://www.benq.com/en-us/monitor.html |
